Sudhir Choudhrie Life’s Journey

Sudhir Choudhrie is well-known for his remarkable record as an entrepreneur and a philanthropic. He also has interest in politics and diplomacy. He studied economics and University of Delhi and started his career in the real estate industry. His first entrepreneurial venture was establishing the Magnum International Trading Company, a company which focuses on exploring and expanding India’s export markets, in1975, and currently serves as the Executive Director. The other executive position that he holds at the moment is vice chairman of Alpha Corp Development Pvt Ltd. In 1995, partnered with Taj Hotels Resorts, which grew to become Taj Kerala. Over the years of his successful career, he has used his Indian and U.K. background to improve relations between the two countries. As a politician, he currently serves as an adviser on India to the U.K. Liberal Democrats leader. Sudhir Choudhrie has managed to be an inspiration to many generations despite his suffering a serious health condition – his heart had a leaking valve.

The leaking value put his life at risk since it meant that his heart could fail at any time. The heart conditions subjected him to a series of health problems, which did not prevent him from pursuing his dreams. During his life, he suffered two heart attacks, and the doctors recommended a heart transplant. Despite having the titin gene mutation, he managed to get a compatible donor in 1999. The heroic act of the 22-year-old donor inspired Sudhir Choudhrie to venture in areas that improve the lives of donors and recipients. Today, he is popular for his venture at the Cardiology Professorship at Columbia University Medical Center. In addition, he has help transplant patients by advocating for organ donations. As a philanthropist, Sudhir Choudhrie together with his family established a charitable organization in 2010 to support transplant patients by encouraging more people to become donors. He has also written a book, From My Heart: A Tale of Life, Love, and Destiny, about his heart transplant experience.
